Sencillo "I Dig Everything"- Introducción

"I Dig Everything" es un sencillo de David Bowie lanzado el 19 de agosto de 1966 con Pye Records (7N 17157). 

Originalmente se hizo una demo con su grupo para actuaciones en directo The Buzz, pero el resultado no convenció al  productor Tony Hatch y los reemplazó por músicos de sesión para la grabación del sencillo.

El sencillo fue otro fracaso comercial, y fue la última grabación de Bowie en Pye. Se hicieron mayores esfuerzos tanto lírica como musicalmente con el impacto acentuado por una producción característica de Tony Hatch. Estas canciones funcionaban mucho mejor en actuaciones en vivo de Bowie, y aunque las ventas seguían siendo insignificantes, un estilo reconocible estaba emergiendo en su música.

La canción fue regrabada 34 años más tarde para el álbum inédito de Bowie Toy. Se han hecho algunas ediciones no oficiales del álbum.

Quizás debido al problema de la grabación del sencillo con The Buzz, Bowie también probó el grupo The Riot Squad; sus grabaciones, que incluían una canción de Bowie y diverso material de The Velvet Underground, nunca vieron la luz. Desde este momento, Ralph Horton que junto a Kennett Pitt eran los managers de Bowie, lo deja y Pitt tomó las riendas.

Componentes de The Riot Squad: A principios de 1967, la banda estaba formada por seis miembros: Bowie (voz, guitarra, arpa de boca), Rod "Rook" Davies (guitarra principal), Brian "Croak" Prebble (bajo, voz), Bob Evans (saxofón tenor, flauta, voz), George "Butch" Davis (teclados) y Derek "Del" Roll (batería).
