  • Steve Gould (n. Stephen Burt Gould, 25 de marzo de 1950, Battersea, South London) – voz principal y bajo, guitarra rítmica
  • David Kaffinetti (n. David Franklyn Ewer, 17 de abril de 1946, Folkestone, Kent) – pianos y teclados variados
  • Graham Field (n. Graham Frederick Stansfield, 3 de mayo de 1940, Beaminster, West Dorset;m. 13 de abril de 2018[2]) – órgano y teclados variados
  • Mark Ashton (n. Mark Ian McVey, 23 de junio de 1949, Herne Bay, Kent) – batería y coros
Rare  Bird

1. Iceberg 6:46

He stood on icy beach before me
His face was beaten by the wind
Before the early morning sunrise
A man who thought he’d never sinned

He turned and slowly came towards me
Stumbling and faltering as he came
By his side a ragged little husky
On his face the loser's look of shame

He said, You, you misunderstand
The hope I had for this land
And you, you cannot conceive
Of all, of all I believe

2. Times 4:00

Cut me up and trying to blow my mind
Do you realize that I'm your kind?
Please don’t throw me out into the cold
Times they say that I am getting old

Please don't lose it losing all the time
Can't you see you’re blowing up my mind?
Baby you're in such a state
Sometimes even I am great
Fed up, better get myself alive
Get myself together baby
Times are making sure I come off clean

Cut me up and trying to blow my mind
Do you realize that I'm your kind?
Please don't throw me out into the cold
Times they say that I am getting old

Please don't lose it losing all the time
Can't you see you're blowing up my mind?
Baby you're in such a state
Sometimes even I am great
Fed up, better get myself alive
Get myself together baby
Times are making sure I come off clean

3. You Went Away 4:17

Cut me up and trying to blow my mind
Do you realize that I'm your kind?
Please don't throw me out into the cold
Times they say that I am getting old

Please don't lose it losing all the time
Can't you see you're blowing up my mind?
Baby you're in such a state
Sometimes even I am great
Fed up, better get myself alive
Get myself together baby
Times are making sure I come off clean

You went away and left me standing there
And I could breathe again
Live again without a care
But your pain was reaching me
And again was teaching me
That I'd heard you deeply many times
So many many times without a thought

I must have caused you pain
Our love was on the way
I want you back again
And I need you, need you, need you, need you
Need you, need you, need you, need you

4. Melanie 3:27

Get in my car, drive down the road
Must make it soon, gonna explode
Now is the time
Things could be fine

Go to the house, passing the breeze
That's where their heads go to be free
People you find
Real piece of mind

Got to get myself in line
Melanie has taken her time
Got to get myself in line
Melanie has taken her time

She stands by the window, the sun shining through on her hair
Her body like velvet as free as a bird in the air
But she knows I'm here yet there's nothing to fear
Melanie said those beautiful words in my ear

Stand on a hill and the moonlight shimmers with gold
She tosses her head to the side, her hair looks like gold
Somehow I know Melanie will go
Melanie, beautiful Melanie, I love you so

Get in my car, drive down the road
Must make it soon, gonna explode
Now is the time
Things could be fine

Go to the house, passing the breeze
That's where their heads go to be free
People you find
Real piece of mind

Got to get myself in line
Melanie has taken her time
Got to get myself in line
Melanie has taken her time

5. Beautiful Scarlet 5:23

I'm on my way
To steal the day
Turning to gold
Warm from the cold

The devil is near
I cannot hear
Your world is cold
Turning to gold

The angel's here
To cast out fear
Glitter of hope
Sever the rope

The devil is near
I cannot hear
Your world is cold
Turning to gold

Beautiful scarlet, someone's really gonna hurt you
The birds are all singing, but noone's gonna sing for you
Time was when, smiling faces all around
Beautiful scarlet, get your feet on the ground

Beautiful scarlet, there is a tear in your eye
The winter went slowly, but summer's gonna pass you by
I used to be happy, just following you around
Beautiful scarlet, get your feet on the ground

I'm on my way
To steal the day
Turning to gold
Warm from the cold

The devil is near
I cannot hear
Your world is cold
Turning to gold

6. Sympathy 2:30

Now when you climb
Into your bed tonight
And when you lock
And bolt the door
Just think of those
Out in the cold and dark
'Cause there's not enough love to go 'round
No, there's not enough love to go 'round

And sympathy
Is what we need, my friend
And sympathy
Is what we need
And sympathy
Is what we need, my friend
'Cause there's not enough love to go 'round
No, there's not enough love to go 'round

Now half the world
Hates the other half
And half the world
Has all the food
And half the world
Lies down and quietly starves
'Cause there's not enough love to go 'round

And sympathy
Is what we need, my friend
And sympathy
Is what we need
And sympathy
Is what we need, my friend
'Cause there's not enough love to go 'round
No, there's not enough love to go 'round

7. Natures Fruit 2:32

Have you ever cried of fear?
Or watched a hawk observing mice?
Or climbed a mountain?
Is that your way of life?

If you sat behind a desk
Assigning papers morning till night
Had an affair with your secretary
Is that your way of life?

Is there such a difference in the two?
Could the hawk be you?

Sing a song or write a book
Drive a bus or make a suit
All these things are acquainted with
Nature making fruit

Have you ever done these things?
You're flirting with the earth
Said the hawk to the mice
"I'll devour you, ain't that nice?"

Is there such a difference in the two?
Could the hawk be
Could the hawk be
Could the hawk be you?

8. Bird On A Wing 4:13

Everyone knows what you can do
The trees and the mountains all look up to you
And you bury them under your wing
Under your wing

You fly so high, you don't make a sound
You'll wait for a moment to swoop to the ground
And you bury them under your wing
Under your wing

You fly so high, you fly way up in the clouds
Wait for a moment to swoop down to the ground
The people singing, you tell me why if you please
Given the chance you'll bring them down to their knees
And you bury them under your wing
Under your wing

Everyone knows what you can do
The trees and the mountains all look up to you
And you bury them under your wing
Under your wing

9. God Of War 5:08

God of War
God of War
God of War
God of War
God of War
God of War

Feel the morning brush my eyes
I know I have woken, I see the skies
Shepherd boy comes into sight
He's looking for his dog, his nocturne nights

God of War
God of War
God of War
God of War
God of War
God of War

His face is white, his body frail
The shepherd boy has told his tale
He told of love and war and hate
And the shepherd boy knew his fate

We saw strange sights in the night
The God of War was hard to fight
Many men have died they say
At the mercy of Mars, God of the Dead

1. "What You Want to Know" – 5:54

Turn on my moonchild
And let bygones drift on by
Give me your love, child
And we'll walk through the heavens and skies

And next to you, girl
I'm a man of ten feet high, oh
And next to you, girl
I'm about to jump and fly

Well if you listen hard
I'll tell you what I wanna know (Hey)
I never wanna let you go
You're my good time
You're all mine, my only woman
And I never wanna let you go

Life's just a hard time
A struggle and maybe I'll get by
You know I'm not a loser
I know I'll come out fine

And next to you, girl
I'm a man of ten feet high
And next to you, girl
I'm about to jump and fly, oh

If you listen hard
I'll tell you what I wanna know (Hey)
I never wanna let you go
You're my good time
You're all mine, my only woman
And I never wanna let you go

If you listen hard
I'll tell you what I wanna know
Yes I never wanna let you go
You're my good time
You're all mine, my only woman
And I never wanna let you go

2. "Down On the Floor" – 2:35

The gate was open
The paths all grown wide
Through broken windows
We could see all inside
This could be our castle
Forever and more
Come let us near love
Down on the floor
Come let us near love
Down on the floor

3. "Hammerhead" – 3:29

The horses rear, the banners wave
The skies foresee the fearless rage of war
Their heads held high, the knights await
For the sun to shed its light upon the moor

Wipe the sleep from out your eyes
The sun begins to climb the sky today
Ten thousand men will fight
For king and god and all that's right today

The Hammerhead has thrust his sword
The strife is o'er, the battle won again
And now his bloody work is done
The women rush to greet their lord and men

Wipe the sleep from out your eyes
The sun begins to climb the sky today
Ten thousand men have fought
For Hammerhead that noble lord today

4. "I'm Thinking" – 5:35

I'm thinking, yes I’m thinking
Of good times and of bad
Of times when I was happy
And of times when I was sad

I'm thinking, I'm hoping
I’m praying for good times ahead
Thinking, I'm hoping
I'm praying for the good times
Some good times are coming to me

You told me there's no tomorrow
The times were looking black
But you can see 'cause I just told you
I'll get there, I won't be back

You put me down, you mess me round
Some good things are coming to me
And I'm thinking and yes I’m thinking
Oh thinking of all the good things
Yeah the good things, oh lord are coming to me

5. "Flight"

Part I: As Your Mind Flies By

Flowing rivers, craggy mountainside
Wondering, watching as your mind flies by
Get your feet down to the ground, better try
Now's the time to free your mind, fly fly fly

Hold your head up to the sky, fly high
See the heaven's open doors fly by
Angels hold you near
Now your path is clear
God has cast out fear
Mind fly by

Cast yourself and sail into the sun
You've had your fun
Cast yourself and sail into the sun
You've had your fun
Now your time has come
Now your time has come
Now your time has come
Now your time has come

Part II: Vacuum

Instrumental

Part III: New Yorker

Man in the street with a long black coat
Short black cat who looks like a goat
Chances are he's one of the few
Looks no different from me and you
New Yorker, he'd better not, ooh
New Yorker, must go down easy, yeah

Part IV: Central Park

There's an evil little man with a gun in his hand
Somebody said you know he plays for a band
What's he doing? Central Park, you know after dark
He's the lunar, he's the groover
He's the head park shark
Head park shark
Head park shark
Head park shark
Head park shark
Head park shark
Head park shark

El sencillo  What You Want To Know

Cara A

A1 Baby Listen

Baby listen, things have come between
Truly pushing, a twisting of your dreams
It's not the first time that I know his own life isn't going right
In such a strangest first showing, show me, turning out of sight
Though you'll meet for a while, tell by the word that is broken, ooh
Trouble inside don't mean a word that you said

I saw a man who was in my dreams
He was as old and as wise as can be
Looked in my glass purely by chance
Happy man, it was me, oh
(All mine) Ain't my dreams
(All through the night) He was as wise as can be
(He was sure) Yeah but purely by chance
Happy man, it was me (Yeah yeah yeah)

Woman of my dreams
I couldn't give you what you need
Tell me your troubles while I dig that life
You'll get over, well I'm gonna try
Though you'll meet for a while, tell by the word that is broken, yeah
Trouble inside don't mean a word that you said

A2 Hey Man

Here I'm standing alone on my island
Watching as the world and people pass and things go by
Deep inside is a world calm and silent
But it’s never quite the way I dream
Although I tried and I'm crying

Hey man, what are you made of?
Hey man, am I right or am I wrong?
Hey man, what are you afraid of?
Hey man, what do you think is going on around?
Ooh a dream I had

Left to fend for myself, I'm surrounded
Hasn’t been a light to come my way to see me through
All alone in this world and still you take me
If I cannot help myself I can't help you
And I'm sorry for the things I've done
I've tried my best for everyone

Hey man, what are you made of?
Hey man, am I right or am I wrong?
Hey man, what are you afraid of?
Hey man, what do you think is going on around?

You can see the coloured fields around you
You can breath the air and touch the sky
All your fears are make believe
Only things you can't concieve

Scheming, you lied to me
Are you dreaming on a path you cannot see?
Dreaming, dreaming

Hey man, what are you made of?
Hey man, am I right or am I wrong?
Hey man, what are you afraid of?
Hey man, what do you think is going on around?
As you weep the world revolves around you
You must make a show before you die
Given time that's left for me
You can make it easily

A3 House In The City

Saying goodbye to a house in the city
It's been part of me for a while
Basement’s all clean, I checked it out this morning
It's time to go, the truck's outside

Riding away, my head starts turning
Good times blowing out the bad
Breaking the ties and dreams for old things
Confusion only makes you mad

Saying goodbye to a house in the city
The carpet’s clean, I made quite sure
Everything is done now, leaving for the station
Slow down the pace, can't take anymore

Riding away, my head starts turning
Good times blowing out the bad
Breaking the ties and dreams for old things
Confusion only makes you mad

Leaving out of this house in the city

A4 Epic Forest

Motor show
Grey moonglow
And as we watch the sunrise, black halo
We all should know

Dark around
Deafening sound
Never ever see the sun go down
To touch the ground

Sunrise
Rest your eyes
On ever changing colours, gold and white
Forever wise

Would you believe that the world is dying?
Wounded lying underneath your feet
And the woods that my father told me
Ages of creation in its leaves
All gone is the time when we stood alone
Mighty Orion was our home
Given a chance to put in a fight
Evil that came in through the night

Sunrise
Rest your eyes
On ever changing colours, gold and white
Forever wise

Would you believe that the world is dying?
Wounded lying underneath your feet
And the woods that my father told me
Ages of creation in its leaves
And would you believe the world is calling
And brown leaves heard your sound?
We'll be heard in the night, a flashing of light
That never will be crowned, no

Ooh Florida
Ooh Florida
Ooh Florida
Ooh Florida
Here we'll see the sunset throwing colours on the ground
Turn your head and look around if you keep to your ground
Leaves forget slowly, sure be on the ground
Ooh Florida
Ooh Florida
Ooh Florida
Ooh Florida
Here we'll see the sunset throwing colours on the ground
Bow your head and look around as you keep to your ground
Leaves will tract carefully, so beyond the ground
Ooh Florida
Ooh Florida

Lado B

B1 Turning The Lights Out

Look up, decision upon your face
Baby I know what you're thinking
Some other man wants to take my place
Out of my depth and I'm sinking

Tell me tomorrow, don't tell me today
Hold out your hand me for turning away
You're turning the lights out on me

Head off your stretch is an open door
There's hundreds that turned into tunes
I'm taking each one of every sand dune
Wherever I turn I'm a blues, ooh

Tell me tomorrow, don't tell me today
Hold out your hand me for turning away
You're turning the lights out on me

Tell me tomorrow, don't tell me today
Hold out your hand me for turning away

B2 Her Darkest Hour

Ou sit in her dark room
She knows you're there but only by the sounds you make
And through her lonely day
Nobody ever turns a smile away

Maybe it's time for her to lead and you to follow
What she sees she hears and what she knows is borrowed
Try to carry on, her darkest hour is when you're gone

And sunset is not hers
Wind in her hair and just her hand alone to hold
She says she does not care
The cut is deep and only you keep out the cold

How can you walk out now and give her no tomorrow?
Help is ours to give and love can drive out sorrow
Try to carry on, her darkest hour is when you're gone

B3 Fears Of The Night

If we rove a stormy season
We could help each other get along
Making out, we have no care
For the currents crossing, we are strong

Fears of the night, should a man pass by
And they don't seem to care if I live
Why do I have these fears of the night?
Golden shoots past by
And I don't seem to change what I see

And as the darkness fills my head
And the storm clouds ruin my every day
We'll take our time for just a moment
And together we can find our way

Don't be afraid, hold your head up high
And we'll laugh out loud tomorrow but today we must cry
Fears of the night, golden shoots past by
And I don't seem to change what I see

B4 Turn It All Around

Turn it all around
Turn it upside down, notice things
I haven't seen before
Walking through the door of change
Trying to believe it
I've opened up and broken through all my chains
And I faint

I'll let you talk to the queen
But have a look at the team today, yeah

It's time to lend a hand
And time to understand, feeling things
I haven't felt before
Walking through the door of change
Questions I can answer now
The life I had is over now, nothing's strange
And I faint

B5 Title No. 1 Again (Birdman)

Straight from my home
Late at night by the back door
Search for a light
That might show me the way

Shotgun in hand
I left a three time loser
A face that was seen
But not going to see

Unchain my hands
Now I've got my freedom

Highways I've roamed
Looking for the distant faces
Gold on the border
And silver in my hand

Meantime I stay
Alone and never changing
And if I did
No one got in my way

Unchain my hands
Now I've got my freedom

C1 Roadside Welcome

Standing alone in the dark and cold
Waiting for movement on the road
Started to rain and I'm soaked right through
I wish I were back at home with you

Days are warmer, nights grow longer now
I lost my ticket yesterday
I tried to get a train but all my money's gone
A roadside welcome on my way

Here comes a car and it's slowing down
The driver has opened up the door
He looks at me and turns his head around
And start to seek and nothing more, no

Days are warmer, nights grow longer now
I lost my ticket yesterday
I tried to get a train but all my money's gone
A roadside welcome on my way

Days are warmer, nights grow longer now
I lost my ticket yesterday
I tried to get a train but all my money's gone, yeah
A roadside welcome on my way

C2 Four Grey Walls

Four grey walls that surround you
Are closing in before your eyes
The rusty shackles that find you
A victim of a life of lies
You're just the same

Fine days you love off my pillow
Safe from danger, safe in the night
While all around is a turmoil
Disappearing from your sight
And out of your mind

Oh you look like a queen
Oh you're something I've seen in the night

Baby you know what you came for
Taking all I've got to give
Four greying walls, it awaits you
Another chance that you two live, oh yeah

Seasons are changing around you
And you stand alone and stare, yeah
Summer to winter mean nothing
Life doesn't watch you, you can't wear, oh

Oh you look like a queen
Oh you're something I've seen in the night

D You're Lost

Time alone, you stop and stare
In a maze I'm watching you over there
In the meantime sugar, don't pull out your hair, yeah
'Cause you're lost, ooh, yeah

And as you're watching the world go by
I've had a good time baby, now I must fly, yeah
And so long and bye bye bye
And you're lost, yeah lost, ooh and you're lost

Think of all the times you drove me too far
Drove me too hard, baby you're nowhere

And as you're watching the world go by
I've had a good time baby, now I must fly
And so long, bye bye bye
And you're lost, yes you're lost and you're lost
Oh-ooh lost, baby you're lost, baby you're lost

Letras

A1 Somebody's Watching

It's been a long cold lonely winter waiting for the sun
Crops are dying, children crying alone
But somebody is watching from afar, somebody knows what we're looking for

A2 Third Time Around

Third time around, it ain't easy
Trying for the times you tried before
And you're soaring in your dreams
Then you're lost in it, so it seems
It's a third time around and no more

High up in the sky, you see a rainbow
You're reaching out to touch, it fades away
Don't worry, don't you cry
Life goes on, in time it wears your mind
Don't you know you can make it if you try?
Third time around, hey
Third time around, hey

A3 Turn Your Head

The road has so many turnings
That it's hard to make a choice
To run ahead... or to follow
And in the meddle of the jouney
I can hear a voice... crying low
What's your name boy?
What's your name boy?
So I looked around every corner
And I stoped (?) every turn
I saw no reason... to question
And out there in the distance
A man held out his hand
Pointing (?)... To the highway
That's where you've got to be boy
To be free boy
Turn you head around...
Turn you head around...
Turn you head around...
See where you came from
Turn you head around...
Turn you head around...
Turn you head around...
See who you are
The time is lost and the (?) is won
Now I'm going... on the highway
Turn you head around...
Turn you head around...
Turn you head around...
See where you came from
Turn you head around...
Turn you head around...
Turn you head around...
See who you are

A4 More And More

Stay away from my place
You're messing around with my mind
The truth is that you're not my face
You're just another kind
Is it true you're the devil's daughter?
Playing games that I can't control
And I know more... much more than I've ever before
I feel that you're tearing up my soul
I think you must be driving me crazy
I can tell by your eyes that you know
But only today, for just a day
I did the washing and the shopping alone
All that I live for
Is crossed in the palm of your hand
And I know more... much more than I've ever before
That's more than a man can stand
Yeah more than I've ever before
And it's more than a man can stand
Oh....
Stay away from my place
You're messing around with my mind
The truth is that you're not my face
You're just another kind
And you know something's got come between us
I know it has got to end
And I know more... much more than I've ever before
I need you but this madness has got to end
More... yeah more than I've ever before
I need you but this madness has got to end
More... yeah more than I've ever before
I need you but this madness has got to end
More... yeah more than I've ever before

B1 Hard Time

I want to understand
This thing called love
I need it to give it all
Throughout my life
(?) rainbow in my head
Colours 'round my feelings can't be dead
And it's such a hard time down to life goes friend
The days are passing by
So many cry
You know it is all so clear
But wonder why
Running doesn't find the bed (does kneel?)
Nothing is ever (?) real
And it's such a hard time down to life goes friend
Sometime it is all so strange
But the pain will remain, I still feel the same
I know it is only right to begin with myself
Keep on trying
Hard time to live
Easier to give
And it's such a hard time down to life goes friend
Hard time to live
Easier to give
And it's such a hard time down to life goes friend
Sometime it is all so strange
The pain will remain, I still feel the same
I know it is only right to begin with myself
Keep on trying
Hard time to live
Easier to give
And it's such a hard time down to life goes
Hard time down to life goes
Hard time down to life goes
Friend
Life is such a hard time

B2 Who Is The Hero

Who's gonna brush back your pretty blonde hair?
And who's gonna star in your next affair?
And who's gonna litter your shadow with gold?
And shelter your body when you froze in the cold?
Who is this man who lives with no coat?

And who's gonna track down and crack your disguise?
And break all the locks to your fortress service?
And throw back the door so your thoughts all run free?
To be lost by the wind, drown by the sea
For you are rendered by some mystery

Who is the hero who crawls in the night?
And seeks his rewards without any fight?
Who is the hero and does he stand true?
And is he standing before you?

Is it just backstreet visions of lonesome hotels?
Where you threw all your coins into wishing wells
And you walked all the streets and you read all the signs
To seek out a gypsy to read your lifelines
But you lost direction and you stumbled outright

Who is the hero who crawls in the night?
And seeks his rewards without any fight?
Who is the hero and does he stand true?
And is he standing before you?

Yes who is the hero who crawls in the night?
And seeks his rewards without any fight?
Who is the hero and does he stand true?
And is he standing before you?

B3 High In The Morning

Very little knew he about love
In and out clubs grow vanes out in his days
His world is filled with sayings
Fender Roll & Roll
And four five drills is dead
Where do you go to
When you're high in+the morning
When you're passing the good+times by
Yes Where do you go+to
When you're high in+the morning
When you're passing the good+times by
Just work as your music
The music is the cause he smiles and talks
Illusions are yor masters
While you're being someone elses second thoughts
Where do you go to
When you're high in+the morning
When you're passing the good+times by
Yes Where do you go+to
When you're high in+the morning
When you're passing the good+times by
Your face is edged with appealing
You want the world to wrap you in its arms
But beneath you're ever concealing
There's an awful blues tearing you apart
Where do you go to
When you're high in the+morning
When you're passing the good+times by
Yes Where do you go+to
When you're high in the+morning
When you're passing the good+times by
